Passive Voice - Modal Verbs in Subjunctive

The passive voice can be constructed in all eight tenses of the Subjunctive mood, although some are very rare.

The Subjunctive (Konjunktiv) mood is typically split into two forms, Konjunktiv I and Konjunktiv II. The former is primarily used for reporting indirect speech, while the latter is for conveying unreal or hypothetical conditions or scenarios.

The Future forms are rarely used except in academic settingsBoth natural and "academic" Future Perfect (see here) is indicated.

Konjunktiv II


Active Passive
Present
Ich könnte das Bier nehmen.
I would be able to take the beer.
Das Bier könnte genommen werden.
The beer would be able to be taken.
[modal verb in Konj II] + [past participle] + werden
Past
Ich hätte das Haus verkaufen sollen.
I should have sold the house.
Das Haus hätte verkauft werden sollen.
The house should have been sold.
[haben in Konj II]1 + [past participle] + werden + [modal verb infinitive]
Future
Er würde dich sehen wollen.
He would want see you.
Du würdest gesehen werden wollen.
You would want be seen.
[werden for future in Konj II] + [past participle] + werden + [modal verb infinitive]
Future Perfect (Natural)
Wir würden die Möhren geschnitten haben müssen.
We would have to have cut the carrots.
Die Möhren würden geschnitten worden sein müssen.
The carrots would have to have been cut.
[werden for future in Konj II] + [past participle] + worden + sein + [modal verb infinitive]
Future Perfect (Academic)
Wir würden die Möhren haben schneiden müssen.
We would have to have cut the carrots.
Die Möhren würden haben geschnitten werden müssen.
The carrots would have to have been cut.
[werden for future in Konj II] + haben + [past participle] + werden + [modal verb infinitive]

Active Passive
Present
Die Ärztin müsse das Kind operieren.
(They said,) The doctor has to operate on the child..
Das Kind müsse operiert werden.
(They said,) The child has to be operated on.

Past
Er habe den Satz übersetzen müssen.
(They said,) He has to translate the sentence.
Der Satz habe übersetzt werden müssen.
(They said,) The sentence has to be translated.
[haben in Konj I]1 + [past participle] + werden + [modal verb infinitive]
Future
Sie werde das Formular ausfüllen müssen.
(They said,) She will have to fill out the form..
Das Formular werde ausgefüllt werden müssen.
(They said,) The form will have to be filled out.
[werden for future in Konj I] + [past participle] + werden + [modal verb infinitive]
Future Perfect (Natural)
Du werdest einen Brief geschrieben haben können.
(They said), You will have been able to write a letter.
Der Brief werde geschrieben worden sein können.
(They said), The letter will have been able to be written.
[werden for future in Konj I] + [past participle] + worden + sein + [modal verb infinitive]
Future Perfect (Academic)
Du werdest einen Brief haben schreiben können.
(They said), You will have been able to write a letter.
